Students at three elementary schools in Sedalia will have renovated bathrooms available next school year, after action taken last month by the district’s school board.
Superintendent Dr Todd Fraley says the renovations are planned this summer at Heber Hunt, Horace Mann, and Washington schools.
Fraley notes that the board agreed with the staff’s recommendation to accept the bid from McCollester Construction, whose bid totaled $979,760. Fraley says the bid was slightly higher than the lowest bid offered by PCE Construction, who is currently completing several other projects for the district.
Also at last month’s meeting, Sedalia’s school board approved the bid from Midwest Synthetic Turf for the installation of playground surfaces at Parkview and Skyline elementary schools as well as Sedalia Middle School, and the installation of replacement bleachers in the Smith-Cotton Junior High gymnasium by Heartland Seating. The board also agreed to the purchase of a riding spreader and sprayer from Advance Turf Solutions, and authorized the purchase of a used track loader not to exceed $70,000.
