The Odessa Board of Aldermen entered into another agreement with Allgeier, Martin, and Associates to conduct an electric distribution study during its meeting on Monday, April 13.

The firm will be conducting an Electrical Distribution System Study for the city. Public Information Coordinator Leslie Shier says this second study will help the city find more ways to increase efficiency and reduce costs before needing to raise electric rates.

Shier says the board plans to review the findings from the study this fall.

In other news, Police Chief Josh Thompson gave a presentation to board members about providing mutual aid to Kansas City this summer for the FIFA World Cup events. Shier says the city is sending seven officers to help aid with almost 80 Tier 1 events, which will provide valuable experience for these officers.

The board’s next meeting is set for Monday, April 27.
