Junior High students at Marshall Public Schools participated in math competitions in Knob Noster and Warrensburg this spring, taking first in both events.
On March 19, a group of 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from MPS competed at the Knob Noster Math Competition and collectively brought home first place for top school at the competition. Marshall had a similar performance at the CDMA Math relays in Warrensburg on Saturday, April 11, placing as the top overall school. MPS Director of Teaching and Learning Laura Jacobi credits the hard work of the teachers and students for the success this spring.
In Warrensburg, Marshall’s 8th grade group finished first overall, while the 6th and 7th graders placed second. Jacobi says students compete in numerous math categories, including problem solving, mental math, algebra, and geometry.
