
The Concordia Board of Aldermen took action Monday night authorizing Mayor Kaleb Nierman to sign a contract with RTS Waste Services for the city’s trash collection needs.
Aldermen approved the contract during regular session of its meeting on May 18. The contract will take effect on October 1, 2026.
The board also moved to replace the air conditioning unit for the Aquatic Center Office. City Administrator Dale Klussman says the board reviewed several options from Beerman Heating and Cooling.
The board decided to install the mini split system at a total cost of $6,050.
Aldermen also approved an amended contract with Smico Contracting Group and authorized the use of Central Park for activities celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The city has also announced that City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.
The board will next meet on Monday, June 1.
