There have been a total of 25 new cases of the virus reported in Carroll County since the beginning of July. The Carroll County Health Department has reported the number of confirmed cases in the county is now up to 36. As of Thursday, afternoon, all 25 cases of the virus that have been reported in the last week remain active and 11 people have been released from observation.
According to the Carroll County Health Department Director, all persons identified by the case subject as a close contact, which is defined as closer than six-feet for a prolonged time of more than 15 minutes, are notified. Therefore, just being in the same public place does not necessarily make someone a close contact. Social distancing should be observed while in public places for this reason.
