A Sedalia man has been charged with felonies for the alleged assault of a woman recently in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says Sedalia Police officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance in progress at the intersection of East 12th Street and South Ingram Avenue on June 30. While en-route, dispatch told the officers the female victim was traveling on foot towards Bothwell Hospital.
The officers made contact with the victim at the hospital who stated she was attacked by 37-year-old Gregory Zentner. The victim said the alleged assault occurred as Zentner pulled her out of a vehicle by her hair and began to hit her in the face and head area with a closed fist. The victim said she lost consciousness as Zentner hit her in the head with a rock-like object. Officers noticed the victim had obvious bruising on her entire upper body area and both legs.
Online court documents say Zentner has been charged with a Class D Felony for Second-Degree Assault and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.
Zentner’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
