A Kansas City resident has been charged with a felony in Lafayette County for allegedly speeding away from a traffic stop on September 8.
A probable-cause statement says a law-enforcement officer made the stop on 11th Street in Lexington. A person exited the passenger’s side of the vehicle, and then the driver reportedly sped away and eventually traveled on northbound Highway 13; ran a stop light while several vehicles were at the intersection of Highway 13 and Main Street; reportedly was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran off the roadway at John Shea Drive and Wood Street.
After several verbal commands by the officer, the woman opened the door and exited the vehicle, which was disabled. The woman was transported to the hospital to be checked out. She later was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Jail.
According to online court documents, 27-year-old Lindsay Rudolph has been charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing- Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury or Death to Any Person. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
Rudolph’s arraignment hearing is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 5, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
