Authorities are asking the public’s help in getting to the bottom of a reported incident of vandalism at a Cooper County church.
According to the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, Mt. Zion Church on 4th Street in Bunceton was vandalized by graffiti on the night of Monday, October 31; the post says what was drawn on the front door of the church is “too disturbing to be seen or shared”.
No other information in the incident has been made available.
Officials are asking any Bunceton or area residents with information in the matter to come forward and contact the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department at 660-882-2771.
Edward L. McDaniel, age 60, of Marshall, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

A Marshall man has been killed after a one-vehicle accident in Saline County on Tuesday.
According to trooper reports form the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened when 60-year-old Edward McDaniel was traveling westbound and reportedly suffered a medical episode. McDaniel’s pickup ran off the right side of the road, returned to the road and ran off the left side, where it hit a ditch and overturned.
McDaniel suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was later pronounced dead at a Columbia hospital. Patrol reports say the crash occurred at 1 p.m. on Missouri 240 at 240th Road.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Saline County Sheriff’s Department.
